Estimate your Frenchie's pregnancy timeline,
expected delivery date and current gestation stage
using a known breeding date or ovulation date.
Because breeding and conception do not always occur
on the same day, all dates are estimates.
Ovulation-based timing is generally more precise
than breeding-date timing when ovulation has been
established by your veterinarian.
Enter the most reliable date you have.
Optional only. Litter size can affect pregnancy
and delivery management, but this calculator
does not use it to change the due date.

⚠️ Important for French Bulldogs
French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed and
are at increased risk of difficult birth
(dystocia). Do not use this calculator to decide
whether a home delivery is safe or whether a
C-section is necessary. A veterinarian should
assess the mother, pregnancy and delivery plan.
If she has strong contractions without producing
a puppy, appears very unwell, has abnormal
discharge, severe pain or another emergency sign,
seek urgent veterinary care.
Pregnancy dates in dogs are estimates unless ovulation
timing has been established. Breeding can occur several
days before ovulation, so a breeding-date calculation
may have a wider delivery window.
French Bulldog Pregnancy FAQs
How long are French Bulldogs pregnant?
+
Dogs are typically pregnant for about 62–64 days
when pregnancy length is measured from ovulation.
When only a breeding date is known, the possible
delivery range is wider because breeding does not
necessarily occur on the day of conception.
Can I calculate the exact due date?
+
No calculator can guarantee an exact delivery date
from a breeding date alone. Veterinary ovulation
timing can make pregnancy dating more accurate.
Even then, individual variation can occur.
When can pregnancy be confirmed?
+
Veterinary ultrasound can reliably detect canine
pregnancy around 25–35 days of gestation. A relaxin
blood test can detect pregnancy from roughly
22–27 days, depending on the test and timing.
When can an X-ray show the puppies?
+
Fetal skeletons may become visible on radiographs
at approximately 42–45 days. Later pregnancy
radiographs are commonly more useful for estimating
litter size.
Are French Bulldogs at higher risk during birth?
+
Yes. French Bulldogs are among the breeds reported
to have increased risk of dystocia. Because of this,
pregnancy and delivery should be planned with a
veterinarian rather than relying only on a due-date
calculator.
What should I do if she goes past the due date?
+
Do not rely on the calculator alone. The breeding
date may not represent conception or ovulation.
Contact your veterinarian for assessment, especially
if the pregnancy is approaching or exceeding the
expected range or if your dog shows any concerning
signs.
This calculator is an educational date-estimation tool.
It does not diagnose pregnancy, determine fetal health,
predict an exact time of birth, or replace veterinary
examination.
